Message from IPEIA Board Chair

Laurent Charron
Laurent Charron – Chair, IPEIA Board of Directors

Dear IPEIA Members and Industry Colleagues,

It is an exciting time for IPEIA. Our association is evolving, and with that comes opportunity – opportunity to strengthen our impact, better serve our members, and continue fostering excellence in the pressure equipment industry. As we move forward, we remain committed to IPEIA’s vision: To lead, grow, and sustain an interconnected community to support the pressure equipment industry.

A major milestone in IPEIA’s evolution came on March 1st, when we transitioned from a volunteer-led Steering Committee to a Board of Directors structure. As a key part of our three-year Strategic Plan, this change strengthens our governance framework, allowing us to operate more efficiently and enhance member services. To support this transition, Christi Marcine has stepped into the role of IPEIA’s first-ever Executive Director, reporting to the Board and overseeing daily operations. This shift enables our dedicated industry volunteers – the heart of IPEIA – to focus on sharing their expertise while staff support them and manage the association’s operational needs. With this structure in place, we are better positioned to fulfill our mission: To enhance pressure equipment safety, reliability, and innovation across industries by fostering awareness, learning, and collaboration among all stakeholders.

2025 IPEIA Conference & Exhibition – A Resounding Success

This year’s Conference & Exhibition in Jasper was truly unforgettable! With a sold-out exhibition and conference, full rooms for outstanding technical presentations, and exceptional networking opportunities, it was clear that IPEIA’s impact is stronger than ever.

Some highlights included:

  • Inspiring keynote speakers, including Tyler Smith, mental health advocate, Humboldt Broncos crash survivor and Amazing Race Canada Winner, and Tom Costabile, P.E., ASME Executive Director/CEO.
  • A completely sold-out Exhibition, featuring the latest industry innovations.
  • Engaged attendees, actively participating in technical discussion and knowledge-sharing.
  • Resilience in action, as we navigated the impact of the Jasper wildfires while reaffirming our commitment to the local community.
  • Unparalleled networking opportunities, from icebreaker events to an evening of great food, music, and dancing.
  • Breathtaking mountain views and incredible weather, making for a truly memorable experience.

Executing such a successful event while laying the groundwork for IPEIA’s strategic transformation was no small feat. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made it all possible. Change is never easy, but together, we embraced it and put what is best for IPEIA and our industry first.
